SUMMERTIME AND THE MOWING IS EASY
The summer is well and truly here and many of us are looking out of the window at our patchy lawns and dreading the mowing season. But the rise of household robotics and the new wave of robotic lawn mowers means that we don’t have to work quite so hard to get a perfect lawn.
New company Autolawn, who specialise in the supply and installation of robotic lawn mowers and battery powered garden tools, are trailblazing the way to an easy and beautiful lawn. Owners and brothers Alistair and James Scott have combined their extensive experience in garden machinery, customer service and business to create a company which gives us more time to relax and removes the stress of wrangling with a cable or reeking of petrol.
“Creating Autolawn was a natural evolution for us. Combining my knowledge of garden machinery and Alistair’s business acumen, along with our understanding the stress of juggling a demanding career and family life with home and garden maintenance, we knew that our unique experiences could be of value to the public.” Says James Scott, owner of Autolawn.
Hugely successful across the world, robotic lawn mowers have taken a leap in technology in the last three years, and their popularity is growing in the UK. Research investment into battery power (due to growing concerns over our reliance on fuel based products) as well as technology getting smarter, quicker and quieter means that the robotic lawn mowers of today have become a valuable and convenient addition to the busy modern lifestyle.
Autolawn are expert installers and offer a free onsite consultation to establish suitability and discuss different robots available. During installation, a perimeter wire is laid around the garden and around any obstacles such as sheds or flower beds. The machine mows everywhere within the perimeter wire, to a schedule you set yourself. You don’t have to lift a finger. But what of the pesky clippings? The blade cuts the clippings so small, which provide the perfect mulch and fertiliser.
Difficult garden? No problem. Robotic lawn mowers can work on slopes of up to 45% (more than a ride on mower can safely handle) and around any number of obstacles and in the most intricate of gardens.
Autolawn are specialist suppliers and installers of the leading mower brands, including Robomow, Husqvarna and Honda.
“We are passionate about beautiful gardens but we also understand that while most people want a gorgeous garden they don’t necessarily have the time or the energy required to maintain it themselves. Professional gardeners or even paying someone to mow your lawn regularly can mean costs mount up considerably over time. A robotic lawn mower is an investment in efficiency, convenience and the health of your lawn.”
